Whose Healthcare Is It, Anyway

Today is the 32nd anniversary of the start of the Battle of Mogadishu, also known as "Black Hawk Down." For all of you in the American Adversaries Army, there are two required books to read. The first is "Politics and Pro Wrestling" by the man facing me, the Philosopher Political Mad Scientist Christopher Hart. The second is "Streets of Mogadishu," by our friend and Commanding General of the American Adversaries Army, Col. Danny McKnight, who was the Army Ranger Commander in the battle of Mogadishu.

Out of all the people I've met while on this 9 year journey as a sponsor and commentator on this show, there are only two people I ever went full fan boy on: Mick Dolan, who was the Godfather of rock and roll radio in this town for over 20 years and played the soundtrack to my young adulthood; and Col. Danny McKnight, who is real man's man, a true American hero, and an amazing friend and role model. They could both use all of our prayers so please do me a favor and say a prayer for them.

There's another group who could use your prayers, too, and that's the democrats on Capitol Hill and particularly in the US Senate. We should all pray that they somehow, by some miracle, perform a rectal cranial inversion, come to their senses, stop lying to the American people, stop trying to steal your healthcare and insurance dollars, and reopen the government.

The government is shut down because democrats want to drive us toward universal healthcare by, among other things, universally subsidizing health insurance. Here's why this is such a huge problem. The democrats want to repeal the Medicaid reforms that were passed in Title VII, Section B of the budget reconciliation, aka the One Big Beautiful Bill.

The first is section 71109 , that prohibits states from using Medicaid funds to provide health coverage to illegal aliens. Last year, the House Budget Committee estimated that illegal aliens account for one-fifth of all Medicaid coverage for the uninsured, approximately $7.5 billion/year, and that total taxpayer coverage for illegals in total is estimated at $23 billion/year.

There were blue states like California that were using schemes to launder Obamacare's expanded Medicaid subsidies and the COVID subsidies to illegals, which the OBBB shut down, to the tune of 10's of billions of dollars. This is a 70/30 issue among a cross section of polls.

The second, Section 71107, mandates proof of eligibility for Medicaid. It requires that all able-bodied adults who apply for Medicaid must spend at least 80 hours/month on a combination of work, job training, education, or verified community service. Democrats want to do away with that requirement. By the way, most polling shows 2/3 of Americans are in favor of the work requirements.

Democrats also want to extend the Biden era COVID tax credits, which was a backdoor expansion of Obamacare, that cost about $40 billion/yr. COVID has been gone for 4 years and these subsidies should be as well. The law creating the subsidies was so poorly written and administered that in some states, families with household incomes up to $500,000 were eligible, and the national average is about $300,000 being eligible. Does anybody really think that the American people want taxpayer monies subsidizing the health insurance premiums of the top 1%? This is nothing more than mission creep to take us one step closer to universal nationalized healthcare.

And, if taking away the subsidies for the COVID tax credits would restore the basic coverages and costs of Obamacare, which is their baby, in what world is that offensive to democrats IF they weren't trying to move us toward universal nationalized healthcare?

Even without the COVID subsidies, people who were having at least ¾ of their premiums subsidized still weren't enrolling on Obamacare. That's how bad and ill-conceived the Obamacare plans are.

For almost two decades, Democrats have falsely equated health insurance with health care. They are two entirely different things, but make no mistake, the democrats want universal healthcare, controlled and administered by the federal government, and paid for entirely with your tax dollars- that is until your tax dollars run out, then the cost will explode the deficit which will hasten our economic demise. To achieve that end, democrats must repeal section VII of the OBBB, and shutting down the government is a small price to pay and really the only leverage they have at the moment.

The major healthcare companies and pharmaceutical companies combined donated over $67 million to our federal representatives last year. Those companies and the politicians trying to enrich them are willing to do anything to create unlimited income streams, monopolies, and expansion. Universal healthcare benefits them, not you. Throw in the democrats' desire to import and subsidize an entirely new illegal electorate loyal to them and now you see why the government is shut down, even though polling suggests that Americans think the democrats are on the wrong side of these issues by a 2 to 1 margin.

Led by President Trump, the GOP on Capitol Hill- in both chambers- have finally grown a backbone and have at least begun to stand up to the democrats, lobbyists, and put we the people first. Who knows? Winning is contagious just like losing is, and the GOP might finally come to like winning. Trump will surely keep showing them how. In the meantime, we need to all ask the question to the democrats, "Whose healthcare is it, anyway?"
