It was interesting observing the democrat national convention this week. For four nights the democrats parading out an endless line of speakers with two purposes in mind.Â
#1) To convince you that Donald Trump is a criminal and a threat to democracy, and
#2) That government and the permanent DC establishment is good and populism, meaning the cynicism of people disgruntled with everything that is wrong with the DC establishment, is bad.
Like George Orwell's famous line from 1984, "The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command." Democrats want you to forget the past four years, ignore the invasion at our southern border, the spike in violent crime, the cumulative 19% inflation, the cost of housing rising over 200%, the federal debt growing by $1 trillion every 100 days, the bungled foreign policy, and the attacks on your children through gender dysphoria. If you just give us 4 more years, we'll fix everything that we screwed up and haven't fixed the past four years, says the party that has controlled the White House for 12 out of the last 16 years.Â
According to the Media Research Center Donald Trump was mentioned more in speeches at the DNC than all policy positions and issues combined. On the first day of the convention alone, the border was mentioned 8 times, crime 6 times, and inflation 6 times. Trump was mentioned 147 times. That is not by accident. For democrats to succeed and retain power they need you to hate Donald Trump and populism more than you hate inflation, illegal immigration, violent crime, fentanyl, abortion, foreign wars, out of control government spending, higher taxation, and the indoctrination of your children into radical gender ideology.Â
Lenin once said, "The highest art of war is to avoid military conflict altogether and instead to defeat the enemy by destroying his principles, his religion, his culture, and his traditions. When a country is so demoralized, you can take it over without firing a single shot."
But what if that same belief is held by many inside the Republican party, and what if I told you that many high placed, powerful republicans would rather be the minority party, subservient to the democrats as they were for decades leading up to the Contract With America, and thwart the MAGA movement just like they thwarted Ross Perot, Ron Paul, and the Tea Party, and that they are just fine with the status quo, as long as the money keeps flowing and government keeps growing?
Rasmussen has been polling senate races in battleground states as well as the presidential race and a startling trend has emerged, that GOP candidates in key senate races in Arizona, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin all lag Trump's numbers by an average of 9 percentage points. Trump leads in all those states except Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, where he only trails by 1 point in each. GOP senate candidates trail in every state except Montana, where Tim Sheehy leads Jon Tester by 7, but he is still lagging Trump by 16 points.Â
The same polling shows the GOP with a 5 point lead over democrats in a generic congressional ballot, so the poor senate polling is a glitch, not a feature. And that glitch begins and ends with Glitch McConnell and the establishment GOP's in the senate.Â
When the democrats saw that Biden was toast and losing to Trump, they forced him out, named his replacement quickly, and launched a propaganda and fundraising blitz through the media to memory hole Biden's bad policies, the Trump assassination attempt, and to kickstart Kamala Harris and her "joyful" campaign.Â
When Mitch McConnell froze multiple times on a hot mike, he simply announced that he wouldn't run again, and would step down as senate minority leader AFTER the election, and that was that. With very few exceptions, like our own Rick Scott, Senate republicans were just fine with that leadership and fund-raising void ahead of this most important election cycle, and so was the RNC. That poor senate polling is a direct result of that.
When democrats had a problem with their presidential ticket, they did whatever they had to do to fix it right then. When republicans in the senate had a problem with their leadership, fundraising, and polling, they did nothing. Look no farther than that contrast to understand why our country is on the trajectory it is on. One side is playing to win, the other just to keep playing.
We, the rank-and-file GOP, are equally to blame for this. We let them get away with it.
Conservative media didn't report it. The liberal media won't report it. You would have never heard it unless you listen to the American Adversaries, but it is real, it is a cancer, and it is making our nation unhealthy.Â
Making America great again obviously begins with re-electing President Trump, but to truly course correct, we need to control both houses of congress as well, and not with the go along, get along defeatists like Mitch McConnell and the senate RINO's. We need strong, committed American patriots aligned with President Trump who are equally as dedicated, equally as energized, and equally as effective as President Trump- people like JD Vance, Rick Scott, Rand Paul- real men doing real things. Â
Â
General Patton told his subordinate leaders that "Moral courage is the most valuable and usually the most absent characteristic in men," and that courage is definitely lacking in the GOP senate. Patton also said, "I am a soldier, I fight where I am told and I win where I fight." The democrats live that every day. The GOP had better learn to or the country we give our children won't include the American dream. Â
