Commencement Speech

Sponsored by: Patriot Home Funding

With so many graduations happening in our high schools and universities- and I refuse to acknowledge kindergarten, fifth grade graduations, and the like as they are participation trophies- I'd like to offer my own commencement address to the new graduates. So here goes...

Congratulations on completing your scholastic indoctrination. Randi Weingarten, the teacher's union, and the woke bureaucratic Marxist leviathan all appreciate your dedication to the cause. You now walk away with tens of thousands of dollars of crushing student loan debt that you may never rid yourselves of and a lot of useless knowledge that you would be wise to rid yourself of.

The candidate you thought it was cool to vote for in the last presidential election, Kamala Harris, just said there should be a "no bad ideas brainstorm." Well, for the past several years you have been in a bad ideas brainstorm and I'd like to deconstruct some of them now.

Remember how they told you government was all powerful and your rights flowed from the government? That's false. God is all powerful and our rights flow from HIM. The government's rights are derived from the consent of the governed, not the other way around.

Remember how they told you that there are several genders? That's false. There are only two genders, male and female. Anything else is just variations of mental illness and false constructs.

The photos of your spring break, No-Kings rallies, and Free Palestine demonstrations on your social media that got all the likes and comments from your friends? Erase them. The person signing your paycheck wants good workers who will represent his business in his image, not divisive far-left activists.

The professors who taught your business classes have you convinced that you can run a fortune 500 company and that you are prepared for the business world. You are not prepared. They taught you the basic framework of corporate structure and not the 4 most important things to being successful in the real world.

Number 1) Relentless desire to succeed, meticulous preparation, and attention to detail are more important than knowledge.

Number 2) Your attitude is everything. Show up ready to win and give your all every day. Nobody cares about your problems and grievances.

Number 3) The biggest key to success is your ability to build and nurture personal relationships. That is more important than anything else you have been taught in the halls of academia.

Number 4) Your ethics, honesty, and the way you make people feel when they interact with you will be the foundational pillars to your future success in any venture.

And now that you are entering the real world, you just acquired a new business partner, the government. That government will tax every dollar you earn, spend, and save for the rest of your life, and they will even tax you after you die. Enjoy your new life with your new partner, till death do you part.

Speaking of your new partner, those of you who aren't entrepreneurs are walking into a cruel corporate world where your new business partner, the government, has already stacked the deck against you. Since you have been brainwashed by your professors to be supporters of unfettered immigration, please understand that those immigrants that you love so much can enter legally into the US under guest worker programs, and they and their employers are exempt from Social Security and Medicare taxes, so you are 9% more expensive than a foreign worker right off the bat.

Combine the fact that the employer sponsors the worker and the workers want so badly to tap into our economy and escape whatever crap country they are coming from, they will accept salaries up to 30% cheaper than what you think you are worth, so hiring the foreigner is a no-brainer for the employer. Don't worry, because when you voted for Biden and Harris- you gave your implicit support for the rigged system that you are now subject to. Also, AI is real and it is coming for your jobs, so it is your responsibility alone to create your own value and sell it in the marketplace. No promises, no free rides. The government won't be there to save you.

Speaking of hard- what the heroes at Lexington and Concord, the men in the trenches at Bull Run, the men who stormed the beaches at Normandy, the heroes of the siege on Okinawa, in the jungles of Vietnam, and the streets of Mosul, what those heroes we honor this weekend faced was real hard. What you are facing is merely an inconvenience.

Contrary to what your Marxist professors told you, American capitalism is the greatest economic system ever developed, has lifted more men out of poverty, made more men rich, and given more wealth and innovation to the world than any other system. You are now part of that ecosystem, and your success or failure is yours alone to decide. Nobody guarantees you anything and nobody will bail you out. No job is demeaning and all work is good work. Before I established myself in the mortgage business, I shoveled hog poop, worked in a liquor store, cut grass, and dug graves. If I can do it, you can do it. The heroes we honor this weekend died to give you that opportunity. Don't waste it.

Perhaps you have run across the social media account "School of Hard Knocks," where the young entrepreneur, James Dumoulin, interviews billionaires and multi-millionaires from all walks of life. Those winners in the business world all have 3 things in common- 1) None of them came from money, 2) they believed in themselves when nobody else did and worked relentlessly, and 3) they all believe in God and Jesus is their Savior.

There's your cheat code. Those are the life lessons conservatives know and liberals ignore. The government you were taught to trust is actually a liability. It is a blood sucking parasite, it is going to take your money up to and after your death, and sell your opportunities to the lowest bidder. Those professors and liberal politicians have sold you a book of lies, and made you pay tens of thousands of dollars you may never pay back to find out.

But there are two entities who won't sell you out- God and your inner self. Trust God and trust your gut, and it will all work out.

And as every commencement speaker ever has said, this is only the beginning, not an end. You are a product of your choices, so use wisely your power of choice. Ditch the indoctrination, and join us in building up our great nation, and welcome to the real world.

You may now toss your caps...
