"It takes a village to raise a child," an old African proverb shamelessly ripped off by Hillary Clinton and used as the title of her book written entirely by an uncredited ghostwriter named Barbara Feinman which served to outline her many big government, nanny state, globalist positions. She even released a picture version of the book in 2017 so democrats could enjoy it, too.
Since Mrs. Clinton hijacked the title back in 1996, the phrase has become a mantra of sorts for the secular left. Going back to at least the 1960's there has been a culture war for control of the children of this country. We've seen that war go into overdrive in the last decade.
Last Saturday, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker addressed the graduating students at Benedictine College. He called out the man who instituted COVID lockdowns and those who pushed gender ideology in schools, noting that they are all supposedly catholic. He correctly stated that the church had failed to lead on moral issues and that failure has gotten us the culture and government we have now. He called for a return to traditional gender roles as outlined in the Bible. He challenged the students to lead a moral, biblicy based life, and to lead using Christian principles.
Naturally, he was pilloried by the left and media. There were calls for the Kansas City Chiefs to fire him, and he was doxxed by the official X account of the City of Kansas City, MO. Â
Earlier this week a physical education teacher in Riverside County, CA, Jessica Tapia, settled her lawsuit for wrongful termination for refusing to use student's preferred pronouns, not allowing male students in the female students' locker room, and for refusing to lie to students' parents and grandparents about children's gender identity- all in violation of Jurupa Unified School District written policy. Her record was wiped clean and she was awarded $360,000.Â
A spokesperson for the school district characterized the settlement as a "compromise of a disputed claim." By the way, the policies Tapia was fired for violating are the official policies of the California Department of Education, so the people in charge of educating children in California would rather use money seized by taxation from the citizens and families of California to pay a teacher $360,000 than risk adjudicating their radical gender policies. That is how important the indoctrination of your children is to the left.
Why is it so vital to the left to have drag queen story hours and pride celebrations in your schools, to allow males to compete in female sports, and bathe and dress in female locker rooms? Why is it so important to hide the truth of mental illness as it relates to gender identity and sexual preference from parents? Why is "toxic masculinity" a thing? Why do they want your children drugged, confused, physically weak, and addicted to video games, social media, and porn? And why is the housewife raising her children, even if not in a Christian home, ridiculed and looked down upon by popular culture and the left? Why was adding an extra $1 billion funding to head start and increasing the number of head start teachers with college degrees one of the first things Obama did in his Stimulus Act in 2009?Â
Because to the left, they need to have total control of the children to indoctrinate them. They understand that the nuclear family with a mother and father, raising their children according to Judeo-Christian tenets and traditions, is the foundation of a free, prosperous, and just society. They need men weak, addicted, and confused. They need women to revolt against their biological role of bearing and raising children and against marriage. The nuclear family, traditional gender roles, strong men as leaders grounded in Christian faith are anathema to their goals of first socialism, then communism, then a one world tyrannical government. The sooner the government and culture can get their hands on your children the easier it is to indoctrinate them. Splitting the nuclear family makes it even easier.Â
In an interview set to air on 60 Minutes this Sunday, Pope Francis said conservatives in the Catholic church are trapped in a "suicidal attitude," and further slandered doctrinaire Christians saying "Because one thing is to take tradition into account, to consider situations from the past, but quite another is to be closed up in a dogmatic box."Â Â
In fact, the opposite is true. By adopting the rainbow flavor of the day, the church is fracturing and is no longer a moral authority. It is devoid of absolute truth, it ignores history, human nature, and the word of God. What Harrison Butker said earlier about weak leaders especially applies to this pope, and our elected representatives especially at the federal level and primarily in the democrat party.
Jesus said, "From the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and they twain shall be one flesh." Proverbs 22:6 tells us to "train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
This is the way. There is no other way. Our survival and prosperity depend on it. It is well worth fighting for. The question is will we? Do we have the will and heart? And the bigger question is who really owns the children?Â
